We live in a world full of wonders, as there is not a single country in this planet that doesn't have something unique and marvelous to offer. However, it is also true that we, as a society, are concerned about the other side of the coin: a big rate of the population living in critical conditions, which leads to other social problems such as crime, violence, addictions, etc.
That said, whenever we think of a solution for those macro issues, our natural tendency is to think about how we can help those who live in the most unfortunate conditions, and so we did think: How To Help?, thus we wanted to identify the very root, where our Social Contribution makes a real positive impact, so we thought of Lao Tse's widely known phrase: “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and feed him for a lifetime”, that seemed to be enough, right?, but we realized that before the man, there is a kid, and bingo! We found the root where all begins.
So, in order to give back to the world, we have enrolled in a programme to support children and teenagers from Oaxaca, a beautiful state in the southeast of Mexico, with one of the highest rates of families without a steady income and thus, also with a very high rate of uneducated kids and young people.
We are convinced that education —and a space to boost kids and teenagers' creativity and genius— is the golden key for better future generations, and therefore for a better world: free of poverty, crime, violence and addictions. That's why we donate a percentage of our earnings, to give scholarships to kids and adolescents who were not having access to formal education.
In Agape we are encouraged to volunteer. We do it through programs organized internally or externally, in order to be directly involved, as we are convinced that giving back nurtures everyone's heart and mind, and this creates a loop of value and collective consciousness.
“EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON TO CHANGE THE WORLD”.
In Agape, we invite everyone to make of our work, a bridge and a helping hand for a better world.
